Leah Jeskie

Leah Jeskie Speech Pathologist
  • 18 years experience providing evidence-based speech pathology services, as well as clinical education and university teaching roles.

  • Master of Speech and Language Pathology & Bachelor of Arts majoring in linguistics and psychology.

  • Expert in working with people with acquired brain injury (ABI)

After graduating in 2005, I was employed at the Royal Rehabilitation Centre Sydney, before spending 5 years working in Seattle, USA.

When I returned to Australia, I worked at the South West Brain Injury Rehabilitation Service in Albury NSW for 5 years. I was sad to discover how difficult it is to access quality health care in regional, rural and remote parts of Australia. I quickly developed a passion for providing services of excellence to these communities.

Since 2015, LJ Speech Pathology has been providing a high-quality mobile service to adults & adolescents in North Eastern Victoria and South West NSW.

I assess and manage of a range of cognitive, communication and swallowing issues. I have special interests in complex behaviour assessment and management, and neurodiverse communication (e.g. Autism, Attention Deficit Disorder).

I combine my speech pathology and musical skills to offer an individually-tailored songwriting program called Song Speech.

Person-centred services:

Frequently Asked Questions

What areas do you service?

LJ Speech Pathology provides a mobile service to North East Victoria and South West NSW. I provide video-link services to people in more remote locations. The Speech Song program runs nation-wide, both in-person and via video-link.

Do I need a referral from my doctor?

You only need a referral from your doctor if you are using Medicare to fund your speech pathology sessions. For all other referrals, you can contact me here.

Where is your office?

I see clients in their homes or community settings, I usually do not work out of a therapy room or office. I believe that both assessment and intervention can be more valid and effective when people are in their everyday context.

What about online services?

I can provide some services via video-link or by phone.

Do you work alone or as part of a team?

An integrated team-based approach to healthcare is my mission. I can work closely with communication partners and any other professionals that may be involved in your care. I will not share information about you with others unless you give me consent.
